EXCEPTIONAL CONTRIBUTION TO CARIBBEAN CULTURE IN THE UK

Balham and Tooting Community and Sports Club was formed 54 years ago by 13 bold Windrush men and 5 women (many ex-servicemen & women) who came together with the assistance of the Black Community to establish a safe haven where they could meet, greet, eat and socialise.

They worked hard to acquire the funds as well as putting their property as guarantee to purchase 94 Balham High Road.

The BTCSC is one of the longest established Caribbean Social Clubs in the UK owned by its members. The Balham & Tooting Community & Sports Club welcomes everyone from the community. Its aim is to provide a safe haven for the Community and others that feel affiliated to the Caribbean Community. It is also a venue that can be utilised for most types of events.

By becoming a member, you will have the opportunity to assist with the future planning, development, maintenance and steering of the BTCSC.

If you love sport, dominos, music, education, health talks and food, the club provides all at an affordable cost.

The average age is 80 with a member in their 90s, we have Health and Wellbeing for members who we visit in their homes, help financially, with shopping if required, contribute to funerals and signpost them services available for their individual needs.

The club also welcomes the younger generation with dances, games nights, sports events and youngsters Xmas parties.

The club has been visited by every Jamaican High Commissioner, artists John Holt, Dennis Brown, Bob Marley, Caribbean politicians would stop by for the wonderful Caribbean cooking that you could only find at the club.
