Jeana Dorival, Founder

INNOVATIVE BLACK OWNED BUSINESS OR BRAND

Jeana Dorival is a passionate entrepreneur and skilled loctician who began her journey in the hair care industry in 2008. From her earliest experiences with natural hair and loc maintenance, she has cultivated a deep understanding of the unique needs of textured hair, eventually launching her own brand, Tiny Hands Locs. As the owner and founder of Tiny Hands Locs, Jeana has become a visionary in the beauty and wellness industry, specializing in high-quality hair care products and services tailored for locs, braids, extensions, weaves, and natural hair.

Jeana’s entrepreneurial journey took a significant leap forward in 2019 when she launched her first product—the Apple Cider Vinegar Herbal Rinse. This product, designed to cleanse and nourish locs, quickly became a customer favourite, establishing Jeana’s place in the natural hair care community. Soon after, she introduced her second product, The Rose Water and Vitamin E Oil, which offered hydration and protection for both the hair and scalp. These early innovations were met with resounding success, laying the foundation for the growth and expansion of Tiny Hands Locs.

In 2021, Jeana’s career reached new heights when she was selected as one of the top hairdressers to participate in London Fashion Week, working with the renowned Derek Clement Hair Team. Her expertise and creativity were on full display during the prestigious event, further elevating her reputation in the competitive worlds of fashion and beauty. Later that same year, she launched two more standout products—her Shampoo and Conditioner, which quickly became popular for their hydrating and strengthening properties, appealing to a growing clientele.

Jeana’s commitment to innovation and customer feedback was showcased in 2022 when she introduced a customer discovery and testing initiative to refine two new products: The Red Onion Miracle Oil and The Follicle Healer. This customer-cantered approach not only ensured the success of her new releases but also deepened her connection with her loyal client base. By listening to her customers’ needs, Jeana has continuously improved her offerings, demonstrating her dedication to excellence.

In recognition of her hard work and community contributions, Jeana was honoured with the prestigious Business of the Year Award at the Kind Hearts Women’s Day “Amazing Women Awards” Recognition Gala in 2023. This accolade celebrated her impact on both the hair care industry and her local community. That same year, Jeana received the Business of the Year Award for her outstanding leadership in expanding Tiny Hands Locs and her dedication to uplifting others.

Beyond her business accomplishments, Jeana is passionate about giving back to her community. In 2022, she launched the first Ras & Link Customer Appreciation Party, an annual event celebrating her loyal clients and fostering community engagement. She has also made substantial contributions to various causes, including sponsoring the Caleb Laurent Primary School in Dominica with a pallet of toys for Christmas, and providing hair care services to the young men at the Codingley and Feltham Young Offenders Prison. Additionally, she has supported the Mahaut Primary School with a range cooker and donated to the Smart Production Dominica and Mahaut Village Council, underscoring her commitment to her roots.

In 2023, Jeana proudly extended a full scholarship to Miss Arianna Didier to support her studies at Convent High School in Dominica, reflecting her dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders.

Today, Jeana’s product line has grown to include 15 items, ranging from hair fresheners to Edge Elixir and Hair Mousse, and she continues to innovate while maintaining her deep connection to her community. Jeana’s unwavering commitment to her craft, her clients, and her community make her a true leader in both business and philanthropy. Through Tiny Hands Locs, Jeana Dorival continues to inspire and uplift, celebrating the beauty of natural hair and the power of community.
